The story behind Gelato Massimo

In 1999, Massimo Caporale came to Central California from Northern Italy with a plan. A plan to bring real Italian gelato to America. Setting up shop in Watsonville, California, he spent months perfecting the base recipe for his gelato and sorbet. The result is a rich and creamy gelato and a luxurious sorbet with an intense, yet natural, flavor.

All of our gelato and sorbet is handcrafted in small batches, and we are constantly coming up with new flavors. We use high quality ingredients that contain absolutely nothing artificial. We often get comments that our flavors taste like the real thing. Lemon tastes like lemon, and peach tastes like peach. Why wouldn't they? We use real fruit.

Gelato is a sinful, yet safe dessert, with half the fat and calories of most ice creams.
